I'm not sure what this is about. Is it an Atlas with maps, an encyclopedia with histories or a combination of both.

Both.

The Marvel Atlas said:

"The mutant Sage (Tessa) served in the Mujahedeen until an encounter with Charles Xavier led to her becoming one of his X-Men."

There is not one correct fact in this statement.

First of all, Sage didn't serve in the Mujahedeen, it was made clear in X-Treme X-Men #44 –-

"WINTER hadn't arrived yet, but it was CLOSE.

Last chance for RAIDS -- by insurgents, by bandits -- before SNOW shut down the highlands 'til spring.

Last chance for the government of KABUL to catch them in the OPEN.

Nothing to do with ME."

Second, Sage was never one of Xavier's X-Men -- she was one of Storm's X-Men. [X-Men v2 #109, X-Treme X-Men.]
After Tessa saved Xavier in Afghanistan she didn't go with him to America, they were separated, and years later she arrived to his school where he trained her to be a spy, not an X-Men. She was never one of his X-Men.

Will this be fixed in later editions?

Btw, her creator, Chris Claremont, said numerous times that Sage is in fact Greek, but he hasn't put that in an issue, yet.

Is anyone looking into correcting the above mentioned error?

It has been brought to the attention of the profile's writer, and we are reviewing it.

The above list has been updated with Atlas #2's entries!

How's that review coming along?

The profile's writer hasn't come on here to mention it, but it hasn't been overlooked. The text has been modified for the Atlas TPB, and no longer states Sage was with the Mujahedeen. As for the rest of the sentence, while it doesn't elaborate on the point (there's limited space and the entry is for the country, not Sage), it's not inaccurate. The encounter with Xavier led, albeit indirectly and not immediately, to her working for him and eventually becoming an X-Man.

I love the Atlas, but unfortunately it isn't complete. I've found a number of fictional countries in Marvel stories that weren't placed. Some of the golden age countries perhaps could be said to be missing from the maps because they were absorbed by countries like Yugoslavia after World War II, but that doesn't cover all of them (and even so, that just means I'd love to see a map of pre-WW2 Europe). The following is a list of all the missed countries I've found. Are there any more?

Alslavia (fictional country in Marvel Mystery Comics #22)
Attainia (fictional country from American Ace stories)
Boravia (fictional country in Spider-Man newspaper strip)
Bruklan (fictional country in The Ghost Rider [Rex Fury] #11)
Caruthia (fictional country in Strange Tales #18)
Cashelot (fictional country from Royal Roy)
Castile D'Or (fictional country from golden age American Ace stories)
Cavernia (fictional country in Journey into Mystery #39)
Costaguay (fictional country in Chamber of Chills #5)
Druzek (fictional country in Mystic #49)
Grunau (fictional country in Astonishing #51)
Khana (fictional country in Mystic #59)
Kussia (fictional country in Mystic Comics #3)
Lessavia (fictional country from Royal Roy)
Luxem (fictional country in Royal Roy)
Matador, el (fictional country in Crash Comics #2 [strongman story])
Mazidor, El (fictional country in Spellbound #23)
Molivia (fictional country from Marvel Mystery Comics #5)
Moravia (fictional country in Royal Roy)
Nichestein (fictional country in Battle #16)
Polaria (fictional country from Crash Comics #5 [Strongman story])
Prussland (fictional country in Red Raven Comics #1)
Reichonia (fictional country in Mystic Comics #1)
Rutania (fictional country in Crash Comics #3 [Strongman story])
Scanlandia (fictional country in Crash Comics #4 [Strongman story])
Sovernia (fictional country in Mystic Comics #2)
Subland (fictional country not placed in World of Mystery #5)
Teutonia (fictional country in Mystic Comics #4)
Valley of the Mists (hides an unnamed fictional country in Adventures into Terror #27)
Vani Hu (fictional country in Adventures into Weird Worlds #29)
Vulgaria (fictional country in Royal Roy)
Wazar (fictional country in Astonishing #59)

I wish I was more of a Conan fan or I'd be able to list all kinds of former countries. :)

Only one jumps to mind:
The original Handbook series map of Europe claims that in the Marvel Universe, Transylvania is a separate country. If that is still canon it deserves an entry for sure.

Glad to see older threads being commented on. Looking at the older threads during the move I've noticed various things that could be discussed still. A key reason I like to keep all the old stuff is that new insights are always possible.

Is there any evidence that it's 616? (Not that it couldn't be, but I don't remember the Atlas "canonizing" any entire countries, just individual characters and stories.)

Not that I'm aware of. I simply posted it because it's in a story published by Marvel and that story seems like it would fit fine into 616. And the Atlas did reference various obscure stories, thereby clarifying their canonical status, so it seems like it could do so here as well.

I just learned of two more:

Nechal (Funny Pages vol. 2 #2, Dave Dean story)

Numidia (Team X/Team 7)

Strictly speaking, the latter is established as existing on Earth-7642, but I suppose it's possible there's also a Numidia on 616.

I just found a super-obscure fictional country in one of the pulps:

Bestria (Star Detective Magazine vol. 1 #2)

It's supposed to be somewhere in central or eastern Europe.
